Archinect is currently featuring a project called "White Elephant (Privately Soft)" by Jimenez Lai.
Lai describes it as "a building inside a building," falling "somewhere between super-furniture and a small house." It's a flippable object, able to be tilted and set on any side. It tumbles, in the architect's words, its cowhide-padded interior offering a place to sit in any orientation.
The video for Battles’ song, Ice Cream, is comparable in appearance, with shots of martial arts performers immediately followed by vignettes of girls licking various unexpected objects – a pine cone, a door handle, and the wheel of a roller skate. Canada say that after the band explained that the song attempted to “deconstruct the concept of an ice cream”, they aimed to parallel that with their video, using “playful imagery that tried to take an approach in all things related to ice cream: its colour, its texture, its lickability, its emotional side etc”.
"Online possessions - from digital photos and videos to music and apps have monetary and emotional value to their owners, and potentially their loved ones."
People who do not take care of their digital possessions risk losing them when they die and they could leave relatives with unpaid bills.
"Their estate may be liable for ongoing subscriptions to online magazines or newspapers," said Mr Strain.
The bluntly-named iCroak is an online service aiming to help people plan how their digital assets are managed after their death.
You have to give Cain Motter some credit.
Like millions of Americans, this Los Angeles-based artist has his share of credit card debt that he's working to pay off. However, unlike all those other folks, he's raising the money to pay off his cards by melting his cards -- and any that he can find -- into elaborate artistic statements about the evils of credit cards. He then sells his artwork for $1,200 apiece

We recently received an order which bore a strong resemblance to an ATM skimming device. Basically, the customer placed a 3D print order for a device similar to the one below which is inserted in an ATM machine.

Cinemetrics is the thesis project of Frederic Brodbeck‘s at the Royal Academy of Arts (KABK), Den Haag. It aims to create a visual “fingerprint” for film using the editing structure, color, speech and motion. Different characteristics are analysed using python and openCV, and data visualised using a custom Processing application. This allows films to be interpreted or compared side by side, code here.
To accompany the analysis, poster series show the most important steps of the process. They explains where the data comes from and what techniques have been used.
Similar idea to the 2D visualisation in the poster for my first onedotzero festival in 1996 - but now much more refined with tools to animate and process automatically in fine-grained detail, with beautiful data-viz.
